Pay now - Money back later
Offer Name: Pay Now, Money Back Later (“PNMBL”)
Applies To: Arc Segment Pack, Hero’s Journey, Director’s Cut, and eligible crossgrades listed below.
1) Eligibility
PNMBL is available to first-time buyers from a client/company and applies to standard licenses for the products above. PNMBL is limited to one (1) refund request per client/company.
2) Refund Window
Refund requests must be submitted within 30 calendar days from the purchase date.
3) How to Request a PNMBL Refund
Email support@thecomposerl.com with subject “PNMBL Refund,” including:
- Order number
- Purchaser name and company
- Product purchased
- Brief reason for refund
4) Reasonable-Use Requirement
To keep PNMBL fair, we may request basic proof of reasonable use during the window (e.g., internal edit/test, cue sheet intent, or project attempt). This is not an artistic review—just a good-faith usage check.
5) Effect of Refund
If approved, the refund is issued to the original payment method. Upon refund, all license rights immediately terminate. You agree to delete and cease use of all delivered files and derivatives.
6) Crossgrades & PNMBL Interaction
Crossgrades charge only the price difference:
- Arc Segment Pack → Hero’s Journey: $1,500
- Hero’s Journey → Director’s Cut: $5,500
- Arc Segment Pack → Director’s Cut: $7,000
7) Exclusions
PNMBL does not apply to prior purchases, expired windows, abuse/fraud, custom work, or non-standard licenses.
8) Abuse & Fair Use
We reserve the right to deny PNMBL in cases of suspected abuse (e.g., serial downloads with intent to refund while retaining use) and to suspend access pending review.
9) Changes
We may update PNMBL terms from time to time. The version in effect at purchase applies to that order.

Non-Exclusive Licensing AGreement
Synchronization License Agreement
Applicability
By purchasing, downloading, or using any music product from
The Composer L, LLC (“Licensor”), the purchaser (“Licensee”)
agrees to the terms of this Synchronization License Agreement.
This Agreement applies to every purchase made through
thecomposerl.com
or affiliated storefronts.
Licensor
The Composer L, LLC
777 N Jefferson St Suite 408 #1321, Milwaukee, WI 53202
Writer: Larry Darnell Brown (ASCAP IPI 522573074)
Publisher: Urban Thought (ASCAP IPI 522482666)
Licensee
The party obtaining a license to use the Work(s).
1. WORK(S)
Licensor grants to Licensee a non-exclusive right to synchronize the original
musical composition(s) and master recording(s) (the “Work”) within audiovisual projects.
(stated plainly: This allows you to use the music in your project, but does not give you ownership of it.)
2. GRANT OF RIGHTS
Licensee is granted the non-exclusive right to use the Work in timed relation with
audiovisual content. This grant does not transfer ownership of the
copyright(s) in either the composition or the sound recording.
(stated plainly: You get to use the music, but I still own it.)
3. RETAINED RIGHTS & ROYALTIES
- Performance Royalties: All performance royalties payable by performing rights organizations (e.g., ASCAP) shall be collected and paid directly to Licensor and Licensor’s publisher. Licensee agrees to properly prepare and file cue sheets.
- Mechanical & Streaming Royalties: Any reproduction, distribution, or streaming of the Work (outside of the synchronized project use) remains subject to Licensor’s rights and royalties.
- Print Royalties: Any publication or distribution of sheet music requires a separate license.
- Neighboring Rights / Master Use Royalties: Any broadcast, public performance, or exploitation of the Work that triggers such royalties remains payable to Licensor.
(stated plainly: You don’t owe me extra directly for these, but I still collect them through my PRO and other channels.)
4. LICENSE FEE
Licensee shall pay a one-time synchronization license fee as agreed at the time of purchase.
This fee covers synchronization rights only and does not include or waive the additional royalties identified above.
5. CREDIT
Licensee agrees to provide onscreen and/or program credit substantially as follows:
“Music by The Composer, L.”
(stated plainly: This ensures I get credited just like in a traditional composer contract.)
6. INDEMNIFICATION
Licensor warrants that the Work is original and created using professional industry-standard tools.
Because similar tools are widely used by composers, incidental similarity to other works may occur,
but no two writers create the same work. Licensee accepts the Work as-is and agrees to indemnify
Licensor against claims arising from Licensee’s use of the Work in its project.
(stated plainly: If someone sues, it’s because the tools sound similar, not because I copied anyone. I still own my music.)
7. MISCELLANEOUS
- This Agreement is non-exclusive. Licensor may license the same Work to other parties.
- This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States.
- This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the Work.
